Pre-Buying Phase:

When you decide to go animal market you must be prepared for buying an animal and you must have fulfilled these instructions for your safety, comfort, and ease during this job.

  • Wear masks: Animal markets are very poor in sanitization and are not properly well managed. So, you must wear a mask to protect yourself from possible infections.
  • Wear Gloves: You must have to wear gloves because during handling animals you have plenty of chances of contracting infectious agents.
  • Use Sanitizer: Bring hand sanitizer with you so that you can use it to clean your dirty hands.
  • Dressing: Your dressing must be casual so that you will feel at ease during the handling of animals and movement in the animal market.
  • Rope: Bring a rope with you because animal merchants use very poor rope, which is easily broken up and also very short. This will make you comfortable in bringing your animal home.
  • Conveyance: If you have your own conveyance then you must use your own vehicle because the vehicles on rent at the buying spots are very costly on Eid days.

Buying Phase:

How select sheep and cows for Qurbani is a very difficult Phase in all these three phases. So make sure to follow things during buying an animal for Eid ul Adha.

Be careful:

Beware of animal merchants from start to end.

  1. Beware of pickpocketing, because plenty of pickpocketers are wandering in animal markets.
  2. Always place money in a safe place or in your pockets.
  3. Never decide too early. First of all, work properly and then decide.
  4. Start bidding only after the complete physical examination.

Physical Examination:

  1. Make sure that the physical features of the animal are perfectly good and the animal must be active and without any sign of lethargy.
  2. You must check horns, teeth, ears, tails, legs, and physical wounds on the body. You must also check the body temperature of the animal and whether the animal is feeding or staying silent. Because if an animal is ill or has some kind of infection, the animals are very poor in their feeding behavior and their body temperature is also not normal.
  3. Observe the back legs of animals are clean or soiled. The soiled legs indicate that the animal is suffering from diarrhea (loose motions).
  4. Make a look by walking the animal to a little distance and make sure that the animal is normal in its walk and without any effect.
